Your solar return chart

Every year the Sun comes back to the exact degree it held when you were born — within a day of your birthday, not always on it. The chart for that minute is read as a sketch of the year ahead.

Birth details

Optional. Shown on this page only, never sent anywhere.

The return moment is still right to within minutes, but its Ascendant and houses need your birth time and are left out.

Start typing a city, then pick it from the list. The return is cast here.

Solar return questions

Why is my solar return not on my birthday?
A calendar year is 365 or 366 days and the Sun's cycle is 365.24, so the exact return drifts around the birthday by up to a day either side, and leap years pull it back.
Should I cast it where I was born or where I am?
Both traditions exist. This page casts it at the birthplace, the older default. The Sun's moment is the same everywhere; only the houses and angles change with place.
Does daylight saving change the result?
Not the instant itself, which is fixed in UTC. It changes the clock time you read it on, which is why the time is shown with its offset and whether summer time was in force.

Astrology is not a science. The return moment is exact astronomy; what the chart means for your year is tradition and interpretation, not evidence.
